The new version Lumi-Con harvester USB-P5CX with the high voltage and high current switch in the dynamo connection allows very fast and long downhills. The switch disconnects the dynamo from the harvester when the battery is full.
All other features correspond to the Harvester USB-P5C.

Lumi-Con anounces the USB-PMX Harvester, an improved version of the USB-PM Harvester. We were able to increase the charging power out of dynamo significantly - nearl by a factor of two (compared to USB-PM).
The battery capacitance had to be reduced slightly because of the available components on the market.

Lumi-Con USB-PM - Bike-Energy-Harvester

This new development within our Bike Energy-Harvester-Family provides the well known powerful charging feature as the USB-P-Family as well as now a compact, waterproof and elegant case.

For connecting the smartphone we offer here a fixed, 25cm long charging cable with USB-C- or USB-Micro connector. The short cable guaranteed low loss.

The fixed dynamo cable can be delivered with various connectors.

In contrast to our well known harvesters we built only one battery cell in, thus we get a very compact design. The high quality of the built in cells guarantee a long life time. For changing defect cells we offer a battery change service.

The dynamo charging unit is similar to the powerful unit of the USB-P-family.

Lumi-Con's Bike Harvester P5 und P12 are now delivered with 50% higher output power. This means an output current of up to 1.5A at the 5V USB port. in addition, further improvements at the output driver lead to better charging behaviour at modern high end smartphones.

A test report published on the page Fahrradzukunft shows the Lumi-Con Bike Harvester as top model regarding technical features at very low cost comparable to others. (in German, please note that the results are made with a different hub dynamo then our test in the data sheets. Therefore the slightly different results can be explained).

Both adjacent figures show the power of our device. The upper figure shows the electrical power charged into the battery vs. speed (28" wheel). At low speed (15km/h) the Lumi-Con Bike Harvester USB-P5 delivers same performance than others, at higher speed the deviations are negligible.

The bottom figure shows the power charged during a 20 minute drive at changing speeds. The Lumi-Con Bike Harvester achieves the second bhest result. (The reason why we loose some power respective to the 1st one is given by some safety circuits we included to prevent from destruction at a wrongly built in batteries by the customer. This safety circits consume some power. Please note: our harvester is the only one which allows battery exchange by customer.)

The Lumi-Con Bike Harvester (here the USB-P5) provides a top price/performance ratio. In addition we have the highest battery capacity. Therefore it can be used as good power pack after the tour (e.g. in the tent). The mains charger is included.

We provide a similar model in addition, the USB-P12, which has same performance regarding hub dynamo charging but much faster mains charging.

A further new development within our Bike Energy-Harvester-Family provides the same powerful charging feature as the USB-P5 but allows much faster mains charging (only 1.5h).

The new designed charging concept of the USB-P12-Harvester provides a peak charging current up to 2A from a mains charger - giving peak charging power of up to 12W (depends on cell voltage). As in all our harvesters two reliable premium LiIon cells with high life time are designed in.

The hub dynamo charger compares to that in the USB-P5 (see below).

Our newest Bike Energy-Harvester has superior charging behaviour.

The new designed charging concept of the USB-P5 allows a charging currents of up to 1A from usual hub dynamos. The respective charging power is up to 8W netto (excluding losses in rectifiers etc.) into the battery (see diagramm below).

As in all our harfvester two premium LiIon-Batteries are designed in for high ife time.

Furthermore we designed a powerful USB-Booster which allows charging the battery from a standard mains charger (5V/2A). A suitable charger is attached. The USB-Input uses a standard Micro USB-B-plug.

Our Bike Energy-Harvester is the ideal smartphone supply during cycling.

The Energy Harvester supplies your smartphone with energy from the hub dynamo. The harvester has a usual USB interface (5V). Thus you can use the smartphone during biking continously (e.g. as navigator) or recharge the smartphone battery.

Features

The harvester USB-D offers a 5V-USB-charger with currents up to 1A - compatible with all smartphones. It has an internal buffer battery therefore it can be used offline (disconnected from hub dynamo) or during rest.

The harvester has two different identical charging inputs, one of it has a power connector (5.5mm). Charging can also be done via attached mains charger (12V).

Lumi-Con introduces a very small LED-Booster with high driving power and Touch-Sensor-Operation.

Featuring a diameter of only 18mm and a lenght of 16mm the DEMO module shows a driving power of up to 8 W (figures on top).

The DEMO module includes the LED driver, the LED-board with very good power dissipation as well as the reverse battery protection board. The DEMO module is designed to simplify first operation and may be directly attached to a Li-Ion-Accu (e. g. type 18650).

A variety of products with different voltages and functions are available soon.

This module is also possible to be integrated into custom packages. Custom dimension of the boards are also offered to be designed in a short time.

The mentioned boards (bottom figure) can be easily integrated in a custom environment.

Lumi-Con provides a new

Touch-Extension-Module

for its Touch Dimmers. With this module you can increase wire length to sensor inputs of our Dimmers by up to 10m. This module enables therefor furhter applications for our dimmer modules.

The modules are built extremely compact (15 x 15 x 5mm) and have 3 connection cables for attaching the Dimmer and a touch pad. The wire length from touch pad to the sensor input can be increased up to 10m. The modules don't need any furhter supply and can e.g. easily glued to a metalic or conductive touch pad.

Lumi-Con offers new

Aluminium-LED-boards

for up to 7 High Power LEDs.

The boards suitable for our dimmers and can be assembled with OSRAM-OSLON- and CREE-LEDs. Dfferent LED configuations can be made asssembling the onboard 0-Ohm resistors. the boards are also available customer specific assembled. Power of 7W and up to 100 Lumen can be reached with suitable heat sinks.

Lumi-Con anounces its new DIMMER control technology. The new SC2-Dimmer family incorporates a seriel interface which makes it possibel to trasmit Dimmer Data from one mopdule to onother. Thus, e.g. controlling of serveral Dimmer modules from one touch pad is possible. Syncronizing of several SC2-Dimmer modules is easily possible.

Lumi-Con at the Light+Building 2012!

Lumi-Con presented its technology at the Light+Building, the worldwide largest trade fair for architecture and technology.

Beside our new Dimmers SC3 and SC4 we presented our very new table luminaires. The actual luminaires, especially our brightest model Star Disc, attract much interest. Also our new Facelina with its quadratic pedestal and the nice window with visible electronics went down well. Customers liked also the cantilevering Candelino because of its flagelliform and slim design and because of its high light output.

All luminaires are equipped with our LED touch dimmers and available with colour temperature control.
